"The organs weep the tears the eyes refuse to shed"
Sir William Osler, 18th century physician
During her 4 years at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, Jenny was fortunate to be trained in the field of naturopathy alongside her Osteopathic training. This combination of skills makes her approach a very holistic one, looking at the whole person and not just the symptoms and enabling her treatments to be really focussed on prevention as well as cure.
Naturopaths work from the principle that the body is governed by the three areas of physical, biochemical and psychological health and that all three need to be functioning optimally for the person to maintain good health. The aims of naturopathic treatments are to work with the person and use the gentlest, least invasive methods possible to help to balance these three areas and encourage self healing without the need for excessive use of drugs and other treatments which may carry a greater risk of unwanted side effects. That is not to say that naturopathy is against orthodox medical treatment, rather that it recognises the need to help the body to cope with whatever life throws at it! The aim is to treat the cause and not just the symptom.
Naturopathic treatment approaches include dietary and lifestyle assessment and advice, physical therapy (Osteopathic treatment), hydrotherapy, detoxing and exercise.
